Uromax, which contains Tamsulosin hydrochloride, is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist specifically indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Unlike non-selective alpha-blockers, tamsulosin exhibits high affinity for the alpha-1A and alpha-1D receptor subtypes located primarily in the prostate, prostatic urethra, and bladder neck.
